We are a therapeutic massage center.
&
We have a massage school.

The Institute of Massage Therapies has been founded as a therapeutic massage center and massage training school. Our intent is to provide the community with the highest quality care in the art and science of massage therapy. We seek always to be focused on the highest good of our clients. We also extend this philosophy to our educational programs.

The clinic is designed to provide the public with outstanding therapeutic massage in a pleasant atmosphere for a completely enjoyable experience. The styles of massage vary with each Nationally Certified Therapist. Our therapists utilize all of their education and intuition to develop client-oriented goals for each session. Every massage is unique and specific to each client's particular needs.

The educational program of IMT is specifically designed to facilitate the development and professional growth of every massage therapy student.  Textbook knowledge, physical senses, and intuition are integrated and blended together to bring into action caring techniques to assist each client in self-healing of body, mind, and spirit.  Instruction in advanced Medical Massage techniques comprises the last 30% of classes.  Class size is limited to 14 students.  More than 50% of the 605-hour training program incorporates hands-on learning.

Director, Pamela Loutzenhiser, is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist with over 1300 hours of advanced education.  She has a Master's Certification in Medical Massage, is certified in Reflexology, and is one of the instructors at IMT.  She is a lifetime member of the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, and a professional member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.  She has been teaching in massage certification training programs in the Richmond area since 1996.
